When we read today’s passage, a centurion appears. A centurion is, just as the word says, a commander who has a hundred men under him. A commander of ten has ten men under him, and a commander of a thousand has a thousand men under him. Among the men this centurion had, there was a servant he especially loved, and that servant fell sick and came near to death.
